Emergency Services Respond To Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash On Middle Road

Police, paramedics and other emergency services responded to a serious collision involving at least two cars and a motorcycle on Middle Road yesterday evening (Thursday).

Emergency services were called shortly before 7.30pm to the incident near Tapnell on one of the main routes linking Newport with the West Wight.

It is understood two cars have been involved in a head-on collision, with a motorcycle also ending up off the road in a hedge.

The incident is on the Newport-bound carriageway on the Freshwater side of Tapnell.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident, with diversions available via Military Road or Yarmouth Road.
