Duo Heroically Hauled From Burning Plane Following Bembridge Crash

A plane crash at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park in Bembridge resulted in two people being saved from a burning plane this afternoon (Saturday).
At around 2.30pm the light aircraft’s engine reportedly cut out before a wing clipped the top of a row of cottages on Hillway Road as the plane dropped.
Firefighters from Newport and Ryde attended the scene, with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service stating the aircraft "had suffered extensive damage from the impact and subsequent fire."
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist Police has been asked to contact 101, quoting 44250160063.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
"We were called at 2.23pm to a report that a light aircraft had crashed in Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park.
"Officers are at the scene as well as colleagues from the fire and ambulance services.
"The plane had two people on board. At this time it is understood one person has suffered minor injuries.
"The holiday park remains open and no roads have been closed."
