Cyclist Injured After Collision With Van In Ryde High Street

A cyclist is receiving medical treatment after being knocked off their bike in a collision with a van in Ryde yesterday evening (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to the junction of St John's Road and High Street at around 6.15pm.

Response officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended the scene.

The collision, involving a cyclist and a white Volkswagen Transporter, has led to the upper section of High Street being closed while the incident is dealt with.

The impact caused damage to the vehicle's windscreen, with glass debris left across the road.

The cyclist's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
