Plans to build nine new homes in Wootton Bridge have come under scrutiny from the parish council.
The revised proposal, for land next to 115 Station Road, would see nine three-bedroom houses built, with developers saying the scheme would help meet demand for housing on the Island.
However, Wootton Bridge Parish Council has raised a number of concerns, despite not formally objecting to the plans.
Councillors say the development does not provide the right mix of housing, pointing to a lack of one and two-bedroom properties, which they say are in clear demand locally.
They have also asked for clarification over an additional area of land included in the plans, saying it is unclear whether it forms part of the development.
Concerns have also been raised about ecological information submitted with the application, with the parish council suggesting more up-to-date and detailed surveys are needed.
The applicant maintains the scheme would contribute towards addressing the Island’s housing shortage, with smaller developments playing an important role.
A decision from the Isle of Wight Council is expected next month.
