CCTV Image Released After Shoplifting Incident In Newport

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following a reported £150 shoplifting incident at Morrisons.

The incident happened on South Street in Newport at around 8:10pm on Friday 6 March, when a man entered the store and picked up several bottles of spirits before leaving without paying just minutes later.

Following enquiries, officers have now shared an image of a man seen in the area at the time, who they believe may be able to help with their investigation.

He is described as white, aged between 40 and 45, around 5ft 8ins tall, with an average build, short dark brown hair and dark facial hair.

He was wearing a black puffer-style jacket with a fluffy hood lining, a grey shirt and beige trousers.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious, is asked to call 101 quoting reference 44260121531.

Police are also appealing for anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage that could assist enquiries to come forward.
