Bus drivers across the Isle of Wight are getting into the festive spirit by wearing Christmas jumpers throughout December to raise funds for charity.

Southern Vectis staff are supporting the operator’s official charity, Mountbatten, with their seasonal fundraising effort.

Richard Tyldsey, Southern Vectis general manager, said:

“Our drivers are a festive bunch and they’ll be donning colourful Christmas jumpers throughout the month, in aid of this very worthy cause.”

As part of the campaign, on Sunday 14 December, festive group The Christmas Bells and friends will be at Newport Bus Station handing out mince pies, spreading cheer, and helping to raise money for Mountbatten.

Tyldsey added:

“We thought this would be the perfect time to help our charity partner.
"Mountbatten is a crucial local resource, supporting people with death and dying, and offering free bereavement support for relatives and friends.
"We’d like to raise as much money as possible while providing our customers with a little festive fun this December.”
