Body Found On Secluded Binstead Pathway Near Beach

A man’s body was discovered on a secluded pathway near the beach at Binstead, prompting a police investigation.

Officers were called shortly before 5pm on Sunday (June 28) after the discovery on a footpath off Church Road.

Cordons were quickly put in place along the route between Players Beach and Ladies Walk, with detectives from Newport CID attending the scene.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the man’s next of kin have been informed.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
