Age UK Isle of Wight is shining a spotlight on its dementia support services as part of Dementia Action Week, which runs from 18th to 24th May.
The charity is using the national awareness campaign to highlight its free Older Person’s Mental Health and Dementia Care Navigation service, alongside community support sessions and dementia-friendly events across the Island.
The service received 675 new referrals between March 2025 and March 2026, underlining the growing demand for support for people living with dementia, memory challenges and their families.
This week also saw Age UK Isle of Wight hold its first Dementia Crafty Chatty Brew session in Newport, bringing people together for creative activities in a relaxed and supportive setting.
The charity says its Dementia Care Navigation team works with people and families to provide emotional support, help access services and encourage confidence and independence.
Regular drop-in sessions continue every Friday, while the next Dementia Friendly Chatty Brew is due to take place at the Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum on 10th June.
