A new cafe and beer bar could be coming to Ryde, with speciality coffee, homemade food and Belgian and German beers on the menu.

Plans to turn the former restaurant at the end of Totland Pier into holiday accommodation have won councillors' backing, though calls have been made for the return of the pier-side cafe.

A seaside café on the Isle of Wight, described as a hub to “meet, refuel and explore”, has been granted a full premises licence.
