Woman Suffers Serious Leg Injury In Sandown Motorcycle Collision

A woman in her 20s has suffered a serious leg injury following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in Sandown on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Broadway and Old Reservoir Lane shortly before 10pm following reports of a crash involving a Honda CBF125 motorcycle and a Vauxhall car.

The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles, with the motorcycle coming to rest on its side across the road from the point of impact.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service before being taken to St Mary's Hospital for further treatment.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the rider sustained a serious leg injury.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and enquiries remain ongoing.
