Woman In 70s Taken To Hospital Following Newport Collision

A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital following an accident in Newport this morning (Wednesday).

Police were called at 11.32am to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Newport Footpath.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A road closure was put into place to enable us to deal with this incident.
