Woman Charged After Several People Assaulted In Ryde

A 31-year-old woman has been charged following a reported fight in Ryde which left several people assaulted.

Mia O’Dell, of Wellington Road, Ryde, has been charged with assault by beating and common assault.

She has been released from police custody and is on bail to appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on September 15th.

Police were called to Jellicoe Close at around 9:29pm on Saturday, following reports of a fight in progress.

Officers attended on blue lights and sirens, while also responding to a separate report of disorder in Newport.

It was established at the scene that several people had reportedly been assaulted.

Officers searched the surrounding area before arresting the 31-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
