Woman Arrested After Man Seriously Assaulted In Freshwater

A woman has been arrested after a man was seriously assaulted at an address in Freshwater this lunchtime.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were called shortly after 1pm on Wednesday following reports of an assault involving a man and a woman in the West Wight.

Police units were sent from Newport and attended a property on Collards Close, off Sunset Close.

A 36-year-old woman from Newport was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

She remains in custody while enquiries continue.
