Island broadband provider WightFibre has picked up two major honours at this year’s ISPA Awards, celebrating the UK internet industry’s top performers.
At the ceremony in London, marking ISPA UK’s 30th anniversary, the company was named Best Rural Internet Service Provider and won the award for Best Fibre Infrastructure.
The judges recognised WightFibre for its continued expansion of high-speed broadband across the Island, particularly in rural areas, and for the quality of its fibre network, which has been rolled out to thousands of homes and businesses.
The double win places the Isle of Wight among the standout regions for digital connectivity this year, with WightFibre praised for its role in improving access to reliable, modern broadband.
Chief executive John Irvine, who attended the event, said the awards were a testament to the work done on the Island.
“We’re committed to making the Isle of Wight one of the best-connected places on the planet,” he said.
“Winning these two awards shows the strength of our fibre infrastructure and the level of service we aim to provide.
"We’re grateful to ISPA UK for the recognition and to our customers, whose thousands of speed tests helped secure these wins.”
The ISPA Awards are considered one of the leading annual events in the UK tech and communications sector, recognising innovation, service quality and industry leadership.
