Thousands of walkers are taking part in the 2026 Walk the Wight today, supporting Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Participants have set off across the Island on a range of routes, including the full crossing from Bembridge to The Needles, as well as shorter options designed to suit all abilities.

The annual event is one of the Isle of Wight’s biggest fundraisers, helping to raise vital money for end-of-life care and support services.

Walkers are travelling through towns, villages and countryside, with support points and volunteers stationed along the routes to provide assistance and encouragement throughout the day.

Ferry operators and local transport providers have also put on additional services to help participants get to and from start and finish points.

Organisers say the event continues to bring the community together, with families, friends and groups all taking part to support an important cause.
