Engines are revving and excitement is building as Isle of Wight Dubbers prepare for their latest event — all in support of a well-loved local cause.
On Sunday 26th April, a convoy of Volkswagen vehicles will set off from Seaclose Park in Newport, travelling across the Island before arriving at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.
A wide variety of vehicles is expected to take part, from classic campervans to modern models, as members of the Island’s VW community come together for a relaxed drive with a purpose.
The event will include a scenic Island-wide convoy, dedicated Dubbers parking at the sanctuary, as well as opportunities to socialise, enjoy the on-site café and take photographs.
Visitors will also be able to meet the donkeys and take part in a guided tour of the sanctuary.
The event is free to attend, although voluntary donations are encouraged to support the Donkey Sanctuary and the work it carries out.
A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Dubbers said the event reflects what the group is all about — bringing people together, enjoying the drive and supporting a worthwhile cause — adding that it promises to be a “feel-good day” for all involved.
With a community of more than 2,500 members, Isle of Wight Dubbers continues to promote a friendly, family-focused environment, while supporting local charities and venues.
