League leaders Ventnor RFC delivered a dominant performance at Watcombe, running in nine tries to secure a convincing 57–10 victory over Overton RFC.

Ventnor weathered early pressure before opening the scoring when Harvey Wheeler found space to cross for the first try, converted by Josh Ford.

The home side soon began to take control, with powerful forward play and slick handling creating further opportunities.

Will Broomfield powered through several tackles to score Ventnor’s second, before Tom Branagh finished another flowing move to extend the lead.

Overton responded with a penalty shortly before the break, but Ford added another try just before half-time to make it 22–3.

The second half continued in the same vein as Wheeler’s kick-and-chase set up Pat Banks for a try on his Watcombe debut.

Branagh soon grabbed his second of the afternoon after winning the ball back following another clever kick ahead.

Further tries from Max Wheeler, debutant Tony Jacobson, Riley Lloyd and Archie Lucy completed the rout, while Ford added six successful conversions.

Overton did manage a late consolation try, but it did little to halt a superb attacking display from Ventnor.

Josh Ford was named A.J. Wells Man of the Match, while Pat Banks earned the Red Funnel Moment of the Match for his debut try.
