Update: Yaverland Road Collision Causes Travel Disruption

Emergency services remain at the scene of a serious collision in Yaverland, with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance among the resources called to help.

The crash happened on Yaverland Road near Sandown Bay Holiday Centre shortly after 11am today (Thursday).

A number of ambulance resources and police units attended, with the air ambulance landing nearby as part of the response.

The road remains affected while emergency crews work at the scene, with drivers advised to find alternative routes.

Southern Vectis has confirmed that Route 8 buses and the Downs Breezer are diverting through Morton Common due to the incident.

A male patient is believed to have been taken for specialist treatment on the mainland.
