The UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) has been confirmed as the official charity partner of Maritime Solent for 2025-26, in a partnership that celebrates the best of the maritime sector across the region.

Based in Cowes, UKSA runs a youth education and maritime training centre on the Isle of Wight, helping young people develop life skills, confidence, and career opportunities in the maritime industry.

The charity was selected after a careful process for its dedication to transforming lives through access to maritime training.

Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime Solent, said:

“UKSA is an incredible charity working with young people across our region.
"Their mission to equip young people with the skills, confidence, and knowledge for a future in the maritime industry reflects our own values.
"We’re thrilled to partner with them and help raise their profile within the industry.”

UKSA’s CEO, Catherine Dixon, added:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be selected as Maritime Solent’s Charity Partner.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the impact of our work with young people, particularly those from the Isle of Wight and across the Solent.
"With Maritime Solent’s support, we can inspire the next generation and create a maritime sector that is inclusive, accessible, and full of opportunity.”

The partnership will be highlighted during the annual Maritime Solent Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions in the maritime sector.

For UKSA, the collaboration represents a chance to reach even more young people, providing them with the skills, qualifications, and confidence to pursue a career on the water.
