Two-Vehicle Crash Closes Noke Common Near Newport

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Newport on Wednesday evening.

The crash happened on Noke Common, off the main Newport to Cowes Road, shortly before 7.25pm.

Firefighters, ambulance crews and police all attended the incident, with the road closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the collision.

The vehicles involved were a Royal Mail Peugeot Boxer van and a Ford Transit tipper.

The incident was later confirmed to be less serious than first feared, with arrangements made to recover the vehicles from the scene.

Noke Common reopened to traffic shortly after 9.15pm.
