Two Men Arrested After Woman Seriously Injured In Sandown Flat Assault

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was seriously injured in an assault at a flat in Sandown on Friday afternoon (May 15).


Police and paramedics were called to Ashborne Court on Albert Road shortly after 3.10pm following reports of a serious assault.


A significant emergency response was sent to the scene, including a pair of Armed Response Vehicles, four additional police units, a critical care paramedic, a rapid response paramedic and an ambulance crew.


On arrival, emergency services found a woman suffering from serious injuries.


Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said initial investigations led to the arrest of two men, both aged 30 and from Sandown, on suspicion of attempted murder.


The pair were taken into custody at Newport Police Station for questioning.


The woman was taken by land ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.


Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
