Two Dead After Vehicle Falls From West Wight Cliff

Police have confirmed that two people have died following an incident that saw a vehicle plummet approximately 300ft from a cliff in the West Wight.

Emergency crews responded to Alum Bay New Road on Friday evening, with a Coastguard Helicopter and lifeboat also scrambled to the scene.

Despite best efforts by emergency crews, both people in the car were pronounced dead.

Investigations remain ongoing and the area has now reopened to the public.
