Two-Car Crash Causes Delays At Apse Heath Roundabout

Motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys following a two-car collision on the main road between Sandown and Newport this morning (Friday).

Emergency services were called to the A3056 at Apse Heath roundabout, at the junction of Newport Road and Alverstone Road, shortly before 7.20am.

The collision happened in wet conditions, with both vehicles sustaining damage.

No serious injuries have been reported and nobody is trapped.

Southern Vectis has confirmed its Route 8 buses are currently unable to serve Winford, as vehicles cannot make the turn at the junction.

The disruption will remain in place until further notice.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and allow additional time for their journeys.
