An investigation is continuing after a teenage boy and a man were arrested following a police search at a property in Gurnard on Monday evening (3 November).
Officers carried out the search at an address on Cockleton Lane at around 7:44pm as part of an investigation into a report of malicious communications of a sexual nature.
During the search, a number of suspicious objects were discovered inside the property.
As a precaution, homes within a 100-metre radius were evacuated for around four hours while specialist officers examined the items.
Police have since confirmed that no explosive materials were found.
A 14-year-old boy from Cowes was arrested on suspicion of sending indecent or offensive communications.
He and a 58-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place and possessing an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose.
Both remain in custody at this time.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team are continuing to patrol the area, and residents with any concerns are encouraged to speak to one of the uniformed officers on duty.
