Trio Of Laundrette Thefts Lead To Arrest Of 40 Year-Old Man

A 40 year-old man from Newport has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a laundrette in the town.


At around 8.40pm on Sunday (18 May), cash was stolen from a laundrette on Carisbrooke Road.


The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has been released on bail until 19 August while further enquiries are carried out.


A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that this was one of a trio of similar incidents.


Between 5pm and 6.15pm on Monday (20 May) cash was stolen from a laundrette on Carisbrooke Road.

At 6.15pm on the same day, cash was stolen from a laundrette on Beech Road.


Enquiries are ongoing into these further incidents.
