Isle of Wight band The Pill have released their highly anticipated debut EP ahead of a newly announced UK headline tour.

Entitled "THE EP", the release incorporates the band’s singles from the past 12 months, as well as a brand new track — all published under the record label AWAL.

The Pill’s newest single, POSH, is the first track on the EP.

Written on a night out, about a night out, the song features Lottie Massey on bass, Lily Hutchings on guitar, with Gavin Sullivan on drums.

Speaking about the new single, The Pill said:

“POSH is drawn from the point of view of the messy, bratty, party girl personas we put on for a laugh after a few too many drinks.
“It’s a wild, stupid parody of ourselves and our music.”

The previously released singles on the EP include Scaffolding Man, Money Mullet and The Pill’s first ever release from April last year, Bale of Hay.

Rufus Reader can be heard on drums for all of the EP's tracks other than POSH.

The band have also announced their first ever UK headline tour, where, throughout September, they will stop off in Leeds, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol and Manchester.

The tour will culminate with a gig at The Joiners in Southampton on Wednesday, October 1.

Next month, on Wednesday, June 18, The Pill will take to the stage in London at The Grace.

A week later, they will join rock group Hot Milk in Luxembourg as the support for American Idiot icons, and former Isle of Wight Festival headliners, Green Day.
