Isle Of Wight Employers Invited To Take Part In Reverse Careers Fair

Island employers are being invited to meet potential recruits at a careers event in Newport designed to help people into work.

The Connect to Work Reverse Careers Fair will take place at Building 64 on Newport High Street on Wednesday 25 November.

Unlike a traditional careers fair, the event will give jobseekers the chance to showcase their skills and experience directly to employers, who can explore how they might fit into their businesses.

The event will bring together employers, jobseekers and support organisations, with speakers, networking and information about recruitment support available through the Connect to Work programme.

Businesses from sectors including tourism, retail, automotive, IT and marine industries are being encouraged to attend.

India Martin-Cogger, an employment specialist with Connect to Work on the Isle of Wight, said the event would help employers meet people with “the skills, determination and talent to succeed in work”.
