Teenager Assaulted On Bus And Street In Lake

Police have launched an investigation after an 18-year-old was assaulted on a bus and then again in the street in Lake, leaving the teenager needing hospital treatment.

Officers were called at 17:40 yesterday (Monday) following reports of an assault on Sandown Road in Lake, also known as Lake High Street.

It is understood the incident began on board the Route 8 bus, where the teenager was assaulted by a man. The situation then continued onto the street after the bus stopped.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the 18-year-old male victim was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
