Teams Set To Make Splash At Charity Dragon Boat Race

Island businesses will be making a splash for Wessex Cancer Support next weekend
by taking part in the charity’s first Dragon Boat Race.
Ten teams will go head to head at Island Harbour on Saturday, 30 th August with
races starting at 1pm.
Sponsored by Rouse, WH Brading and Biscoes Solicitors, the event will feature
teams from:

WRS
Spectators are welcome, with access via the lock bridge at Island Harbour, and will
be asked to make a donation to Wessex Cancer Support on arrival.
As well as racing on the water, there will be a bar, food and shoreside entertainment,
including facepainting, balloon modelling, a prizegiving and an after-party DJ set
from our Girl G between 5.30pm and 8pm.
While limited parking is available, spectators are requested to use public transport
and arrive on foot, where possible.
All money raised from the event will help Wessex Cancer Support provide free and
local emotional support to anyone affected by cancer.
