Tapnell Farm Park To Say Farewell To Much-Loved Wallabies

Tapnell Farm Park is preparing to say goodbye to some much-loved members of its animal family.

The wallabies, which have been at the West Wight attraction for the past ten years, will be moving to new homes at Longleat and New Forest Wildlife Park.

They originally arrived at Tapnell in 2016 after being rehomed following the closure of Seaview Wildlife Encounter.

Since then, they've become firm favourites with visitors and staff, with thousands of families getting the chance to see them over the years.

The wallabies will leave Tapnell on Wednesday, 16 September.

Visitors can still say goodbye, with the popular wallaby feeds continuing daily until Tuesday, 15 September – their final day at the Farm Park.

The move is part of plans to reshape Tapnell Farm Park and put greater focus on its roots as a family-owned, working British farm.

From 2027, the attraction says it will increasingly champion British farming and the countryside, with more interactive experiences and opportunities for families to learn about farming, nature and where their food comes from.

The current Bugs and Beasties area will also be transformed this autumn, with the animals currently housed there moving to new homes at the end of September.

The area will eventually become a new educational and interactive experience focusing on wildlife, nature and ecology around a working British farm.

Tapnell Farm says more details about the changes will be announced over the coming months.

For now, visitors have until Tuesday, 15 September to see the wallabies and say goodbye before they begin their next adventure.
