If you’re feeling brave this Christmas, there are plenty of opportunities to take a chilly dip in the sea across festive season.
Boxing Day swims are happening across the Isle of Wight from tomorrow (Friday 26 December).
In Ventnor, the 45th anniversary Boxing Day Swim kicks off from Ventnor Esplanade at 12pm, with funds raised supporting Ventnor Carnival and Patch.
Shanklin swimmers are gathering at Small Hope Beach, next to The Salix, for midday, with a 12:30 splash time.
Further north, swimmers will enter the water at Gurnard Sailing Club at 11am.
The festive dips continue into the New Year with a Sandown swim on January 1, opposite Pebbles Beach Café, starting at 10:30am.
Entry for that one is £2 per person.
