As spring officially begins on Friday 20 March, Dogs Trust is warning dog owners on the Isle of Wight about seasonal garden hazards.
Beautiful spring blooms such as daffodils, tulips, bluebells, rhododendrons and azaleas may look harmless, but they can be toxic to dogs.
Symptoms of poisoning include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, drooling, and in serious cases, seizures or heart issues.
The charity advises contacting a vet immediately if your dog has eaten any suspect plants, even if they appear well.
Dogs Trust encourages owners to make gardens safe and stimulating for pets.
Tips include creating shaded resting spots, sensory activities with safe herbs or toys, and shallow paddling areas for supervised play.
