Six-Week Celebration Of Island Creativity Just One Month Away

A six-week celebration showcasing creativity across the Isle of Wight is now just one month away.

CAN YOU HEAR US? gets underway on Friday, September 11, bringing together more than 50 Island organisations for a programme of theatre, music, carnival, food, nature, craft, folklore and more.

The event runs until October 24, with most activities either free or low-cost and taking place in communities across the Island.

Events will also be held at the Ventnor Exchange Arena, a new travelling venue which will act as the homebase for the celebration.

Organisers say more than 50 organisations have spent almost a year developing free events and activities, with projects including shows, workshops, exhibitions and handmade costumes.

The programme is designed to celebrate the creativity already happening across the Island, while showcasing the Isle of Wight as a “progressive, ambitious and creative” place to live and work.

Organisers say everyone is invited to take part.
