Cowes Fringe has announced a truly star-studded addition to its main programme, with Sir Derek Jacobi CBE confirmed as the headline guest for a special gala evening.
The legendary actor, whose career spans more than 60 years with credits from I, Claudius and Gladiator to The Crown and The King’s Speech, will appear in conversation with Richard Clifford.
The evening, presented by Clive Conway Productions, will also raise funds for Mountbatten Hospice.
Attendees can expect an intimate night of stories from theatre, film, television, and Shakespeare, alongside a charity auction during the interval.
The evening will close with a live performance from Jennie Vacher, winner of Island’s Got Talent, who impressed judges with her powerhouse rendition of Tina Turner’s Simply The Best.
VIP tickets include early entry, a glass of fizz, priority seating, and a meet-and-greet with Sir Derek Jacobi, with numbers strictly limited.
A fully licensed bar and refreshments will also be available.
The festival itself returns from 22–24 May 2026, bringing music, theatre, and comedy to venues across Cowes and East Cowes, showcasing a mix of local and national talent against the town’s iconic coastal backdrop.
Tickets for the gala evening and the main festival are on sale now at www.cowesfringe.com.
