Search Underway For Wanted Man After Burglary In Newport

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is appealing for help to locate a 27-year-old man wanted in connection with a burglary in Newport.

Ian Willett is wanted following a reported burglary at an address in West Street on Saturday 16 May.

Police say officers, including the force’s arrest team, have carried out enquiries to try and locate him, including visiting addresses linked to him and speaking with known associates.

Willett is described as white, of medium build and around 6ft 2in tall, with brown wavy hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo of the name “Matty” on the left side of his neck.

He is known to have links to Ventnor, Freshwater and Newport.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being urged to call 999 quoting reference 44260231032.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police have also warned that anyone found to be deliberately helping Willett evade arrest could themselves face arrest for harbouring an offender.
