Sandown Man Arrested After Police Pursuit In East Cowes

A man from Sandown has been arrested following a police pursuit in East Cowes late last night.

Police say officers attempted to stop a Peugeot 206 on York Avenue at around 10:45pm on Sunday (10 May).

The vehicle failed to stop and a short pursuit followed.

According to officers, the driver later abandoned the vehicle on Saunders Way before being arrested a short time afterwards.

A 27-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and drug driving.

He remains in police custody at this time.
