Ryde Woman Organises Fundraiser After Air Ambulance Saved Her Life
A Ryde woman is organising a special fundraising event to thank the air ambulance service which she says saved her life earlier this year.
Air Ambulance HeroesĀ will take place at Network Ryde at St Thomas's Church on Saturday 12 September, from midday until 5pm.
The free event will feature dance, music, raffles and other fundraising activities, with money being raised for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The fundraiser has been organised by Behroze Gandhy, who was airlifted from Ryde to Southampton General Hospital by the charity on Easter Sunday following a medical emergency.
She says the experience inspired her to organise the event as a way of giving something back.
Behroze said the care, expertise and rapid response of the air ambulance team played a crucial role in saving her life.
She hopes the event will help raise money towards the charity's life-saving work, as well as highlighting the important role it plays in communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies heavily on public donations to provide specialist pre-hospital emergency care to people facing life-threatening emergencies.
Air Ambulance HeroesĀ is being held at Network Ryde, St Thomas's Church, St Thomas's Street, Ryde.
Admission is free, there's no need to book, and everyone is welcome.
