Ryde Residents Invited To Annual Town Meeting As Community Projects Celebrated

Residents in Ryde are being invited to attend the town’s annual meeting later this week, with updates planned on community projects, youth services and local policing.

The “Celebrating Ryde” event is being organised by Ryde Town Council and will take place at The Department on Thursday 28 May.

Doors open at 5:45pm, with the meeting running from 6pm until 8pm.

Topics due to be discussed include an update on Ryde’s Town of Culture plans, neighbourhood policing, youth services from Network Ryde and the “Isle of Poop” campaign aimed at tackling dog fouling.

Representatives from the Ryde Neighbourhood Board are also expected to speak.

The Mayor of Ryde, Karen Lucioni, said:

“The Annual Town Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved together as a community and to hear about the exciting projects currently underway. I encourage everyone to attend.”

The event is open to all residents, with no booking required and refreshments available.

Organisers have stressed that the gathering is a meeting of the town rather than a formal council meeting.
