Ryde Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Shanklin Incident

A 36-year-old man from Ryde has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Shanklin earlier this month.
Police were called to Victoria Avenue at around 5.54am on Saturday, 6 September, after reports of an altercation between two men.
Both men sustained injuries and were initially arrested before being taken to hospital for treatment.
After further enquiries, police confirmed that a 40-year-old man arrested at the scene has since been released with no further action.
Meanwhile, James Hyde, of Jubilee Place in Ryde, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary, and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 15 September.
