An earlier appeal to identify a man following a robbery at a Newport petrol station has now been resolved.
Police say the person in the CCTV images has been identified, and the appeal — along with the associated images — should be removed from all channels.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have confirmed that a 62-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
He has been released on bail with conditions until Tuesday 30 June while enquiries continue.
The incident took place at around 7.20pm on Saturday 28 March at the Morrisons petrol station on South Street, Newport. Police said a man approached a member of staff, kicked him to the ground, and punched him in the face before demanding access to the till.
He left a few minutes later with a bottle of whiskey, cigarettes and flowers without paying. Thankfully, the member of staff was not injured.
At the time, the suspect was described as a white man in his 50s or 60s, with a stocky build, grey beard, and short grey hair, wearing grey jeans, a black waterproof jacket, and a white T-shirt with stains.
