RNLI Bembridge Lifeboat Station launched to assist a 41ft yacht that ran aground near St Helen's Fort on Tuesday evening.
The alarm was raised while the station’s All-Weather Lifeboat, Alfred Albert Williams, was carrying out a public launch into the Solent.
The yacht, carrying 3 people, became stranded on a rising tide close to the fort.
Crew members deployed the lifeboat’s Y-Boat to position an anchor and help stabilise the vessel while waiting for sufficient water to lift it clear.
Around 30 minutes later, the yacht was successfully refloated and continued its journey under its own power.
The lifeboat returned to station at around 20:05.
