Red Funnel Vehicle Ferries Resume After Fog Disruption But Delays Continue

Vehicle ferry services operated by Red Funnel have now resumed following disruption caused by dense fog across the Solent this morning (Monday).

In an update, the ferry operator said:

“Our vehicle ferry has resumed service following earlier reduced visibility, however all booked vehicle traffic will have delays to travel.

“We will contact customers directly with further information and apologise for any inconvenience to your journey.”

Earlier today, foggy conditions across Cowes Harbour and the Solent forced the temporary suspension of the operator’s vehicle ferry service between East Cowes and Southampton.

Minimum visibility limits set by the Cowes Harbour Commission meant sailings could not operate safely.

During the disruption, Red Falcon was holding outside the harbour entrance while Red Osprey remained in port at Southampton.
