Isle of Wight Students Celebrate A-Level Results Day

Students across the Isle of Wight are receiving their A-level and post-16 qualification results today as they prepare to take their next steps.

The Isle of Wight Council has congratulated young people receiving their results, praising the hard work, determination and resilience shown throughout their studies.

Students will now be looking towards a range of different pathways, including university, apprenticeships, employment and further training.

Ashley Whittaker, Strategic Director for Children’s Services, said: “I would personally like to extend my congratulations to every student receiving their results today.

“Achieving qualifications requires commitment, perseverance and hard work, and all young people should be extremely proud of what they have accomplished.

“I would also like to thank our schools, colleges, teachers, support staff, parents and carers for the vital role they play in helping young people succeed.

“Whatever the results may be, there are many opportunities available and a range of pathways to help young people achieve their ambitions. We wish all our students every success in the future.”

Councillor Ros Freeman, Chair of the Isle of Wight Council’s Children and Young People’s Committee, said the results represented more than academic achievement.

She said: “Today is a day to celebrate the achievements of our young people. Across the Island, students have demonstrated determination and resilience, and they deserve recognition for their efforts.

“These results represent not just academic achievement, but the personal growth and dedication shown throughout their education.

“We are incredibly proud of all our young people and thank the teaching staff, families and wider communities who have supported them. I wish every student the very best as they take their next steps, wherever their journey leads.”

The council has also reminded students who did not receive the results they had hoped for that advice and support is available.
