Premier Motors in Newport has officially become a Peugeot dealer.

The Riverway dealership already offers Ford and MG vehicles, with a new dedicated Peugeot showroom currently being completed.

The move means customers on the Island will have access to Peugeot’s range of cars and electric vehicles, including the 208 supermini and the eight-seat E-Traveller.

Premier Motors says the addition will also strengthen its electric vehicle offering, with Peugeot providing a range of fully electric models.

Dealer Principal Neil Gordon said the company was "hugely excited" to welcome Peugeot to its portfolio.

He said the three brands would give customers "even greater choice" of vehicles suited to life on the Island.

Premier Motors is owned by Greenhous Group, which acquired the business in 2019.

The company has also announced a new partnership with The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary in Sandown.

Premier Motors will support rescued animals at the sanctuary by making a donation for every qualifying new Peugeot sold.

The business has been operating on the Isle of Wight since 1852 and has been a main Ford dealer since 1923.

Its Newport site also offers vehicle servicing and repairs, MOT testing, accident repairs, and car and van hire.
