Police Investigation Underway After Van Crashes Into Lake Traffic Lights

Police are carrying out enquiries to identify the driver of a van which crashed into traffic lights in Lake late on Thursday night.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to Newport Road in Lake at around 11pm following reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Officers attended the scene and found a white Ford Transit Connect had collided head-on with a set of traffic lights.

The driver had already left the area on foot before police arrived.

Arrangements were made to recover the vehicle, and Island Roads was informed about the damage to the traffic lights and surrounding street furniture.

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
