Police are searching for the driver of a van which crashed into four parked vehicles in Ryde before being abandoned nearby.
The incident happened shortly after 7pm yesterday (Thursday) in Arthur Street.
A black Ford Transit hit a green Vauxhall and a VW Golf, which was then shunted into a Ford Fiesta and a VW Polo.
The driver is understood to have then left the scene, driving the damaged van with one of its front wheels badly damaged.
The Transit was later abandoned in nearby Ratcliffe Avenue, where it also caused damage to the road.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has launched an investigation and is appealing for information to identify the driver.
No arrests have been made.
The owners of the four damaged vehicles are now facing potentially significant repair costs, with at least three of the cars believed to be beyond economical repair.
