Niton Primary School Children Hailed For Colourful Freshwater Skatepark Fundraising Efforts

Freshwater Parish Council has extended its thanks to Niton Primary School for its outstanding fundraising efforts to support the building of the new Freshwater Skatepark.

On Friday, 28th March, the school hosted 'Green House Day,' where the entire school came together to raise money for the house captains' chosen charity—the Freshwater Skatepark project.

Teacher Vicky Plested explained:

"Mr Ransom delivered an assembly to the school about the new skatepark and how to stay safe while skateboarding.

"Green House Captain Lilah and Vice House Captain Lily chose to organise a crazy hair day and a cake sale.

"The school kitchen also made crazy biscuits to sell during breaktime. The creativity and enthusiasm shown by the students were truly inspiring."

Thanks to the hard work and generosity of the students and staff, the event raised an impressive £287.90 to support the development of the new skatepark, a vital addition to the Freshwater community.

Kirsty Gibson, Clerk of Freshwater Parish Council, expressed her appreciation, saying:

"We are incredibly grateful to Niton Primary School for their efforts to help raise funds for the new skatepark.

"This contribution will play an important role in bringing the skatepark project to life, providing a safe and exciting space for young people and the wider community.

"We look forward to seeing the children enjoying the new skatepark"

The Freshwater Parish Council is excited about the future of the skatepark and looks forward to working with the community to ensure it becomes a fantastic recreational facility for all to enjoy.
