NFU Mutual Isle of Wight has announced a new community partnership with Mountbatten Isle of Wight, the Island’s only hospice and the lead provider of palliative and end-of-life care.

The hospice supports people living with, affected by, or curious about death, dying, and bereavement across the Isle of Wight.

From April 1 to September 30, 2026, NFU Mutual Isle of Wight will donate £10 to Mountbatten for every new local policy taken out during this period.

Each policy purchased will therefore contribute directly to helping the hospice continue its essential care and wellbeing services for Island residents facing life-limiting illnesses.

Mountbatten has been providing expert, person-centred support for over 40 years, offering free services including inpatient care, 24/7 community support, day services, rehabilitation, and bereavement care – all designed to help people live well through their illness, not just at the end of life.

Charlotte Hornblow, Community Fundraising Lead at Mountbatten Isle of Wight, said:

“Mountbatten cares for more than 2,500 Islanders on any given day, both in our 16-bed inpatient unit in Newport and in people’s homes across the Island.
"We work closely with GPs, hospitals, community teams and voluntary sector partners to ensure seamless care across clinical, emotional and practical needs.
"Partnerships like this one with NFU Mutual are crucial for us to continue delivering our services.”

John Heather, Senior Agent at NFU Mutual Isle of Wight, added:

“We’re delighted to support Mountbatten through this initiative.
"Their compassionate and highly specialised care provides comfort and dignity to so many people in our community.
"By donating £10 for every new policy started between April and September, we hope to help Mountbatten continue making every moment matter for local families.”

NFU Mutual Isle of Wight has a long history of supporting local causes and charities, working closely with families, businesses, and organisations across the Island to make a meaningful difference in the community.
