Residents at a local care home have enjoyed their first trip out in the home’s brand new minibus, with visits to Costa Coffee and the popular Bear Café at Honnor & Jeffrey Garden Centres on the Isle of Wight.

The outing, hosted by Orchard House in Newport, proved a hit with coffee lovers, with Italian-style coffee among the favourites.

Residents enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere, good company and the chance to spend time together while getting out and about in the community.

The trip also showcased the positive impact the new minibus is already having, providing greater comfort, independence and freedom for residents to enjoy regular outings across the Island.

Staff say experiences like these play an important role in supporting wellbeing and improving quality of life, with this first journey setting a positive tone for many more trips to come.

The home has thanked Barchester Healthcare for helping to make the new minibus possible and for its continued support in enhancing residents’ wellbeing.
