Hidden Compass Trio To Perform At Ventnor Arts Club

The Hidden Compass Trio will perform at Ventnor Arts Club this week, bringing together music for violin, viola and cello.

The concert takes place on Thursday (October 8), starting at 7.30pm.

Formed in 2019, the trio regularly performs at London's National Gallery, where its members have become known as the “Gallery Trio”.

The group explores a wide range of repertoire, bringing together familiar pieces with less well-known works inspired by places, pictures and stories.

Thursday's programme will feature music by Beethoven, Jean Cras and Kodály, alongside original compositions written specifically for the trio by cellist and composer Nina Plapp.

Nina was born on the Isle of Wight and is based in Ryde, while also working as a performer and composer.

She is joined in the trio by violinist Rita and violist Anastasia Sofina, who has performed at venues including Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall.

The concert runs from 7.30pm to 9pm at Ventnor Arts Club on Thursday.

Tickets are available online.
